Balsamic Cherry French Toast

This french toast with a twist will get your day off to a deliciously fruity start. The secret ingredient in this delicious dish is our Yellow Label Balsamic Vinegar. It creates the perfect balance of sweet and zesty.

500g cherries pitted

45g brown sugar

2 tbsp Yellow Label Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

2 tsp honey

2 tbsp water

8 large bread slices

2 fresh eggs

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Salt to taste

230ml of milk

40g butter

Spoonful of greek natural yogurt

2 cups cherries pitted

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp of Yellow Label Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

2 tsp honey

2 tbsp water

8 large bread slices

2 fresh eggs

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Salt to taste

1 cup of milk

1.5oz butter

Spoonful of greek natural yogurt

  • Step 1.

In a small pot, add cherries, sugar, Balsamic Vinegar, honey and water. Allow to simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. Transfer into a bowl to cool.

  • Step 2.

Whisk together milk, eggs, sea salt, cinnamon and vanilla in a bowl. Add bread slices and coat in the mixture.

  • Step 3.

In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes for each side until golden.

  • Step 4.

Serve your French toast with the cherry compote and dollop of Greek yoghurt, then drizzle with balsamic vinegar for a deliciously sweet twist.
